LLP “Engineering Company WEST OIL” continues the implementation of a large-scale program to modernize gas flow measurement systems at the facilities of the Mangystau Atomic Energy Complex (MAEC). The main objective of the project is to improve the accuracy of gas metering and reduce fuel consumption through the introduction of modern technologies.

Previously, the facilities operated outdated chart recorder-based instruments, whose measurement errors significantly exceeded those of modern systems. This resulted in additional losses and economic inefficiencies. In addition, the existing gas regulating points (GRP) did not comply with the requirements of ST RK 2.131-2013 and were not included in the State Register of the Republic of Kazakhstan as gas metering systems.

As part of its digitalization program, WEST OIL is implementing the project “Modernization of Gas Metering Units at CHPP-1, CHPP-2, and TPP” in stages.

In 2024, the first stage (Phase 1) was successfully completed at GRP-1 and GRP-2 of CHPP-2, with commissioning in December 2024.

In 2025, Phase 2 of the project was implemented at the TPP GRP, with commissioning in December 2025.

In March 2026, Phase 3 of the first stage was completed — the modernization of gas metering units at the CHPP-1 GRP.

During the project implementation, advanced technical solutions and equipment from leading global manufacturers, including Emerson, Siemens, Parker, and MOXA, were applied.

The completed modernization significantly improved measurement accuracy, ensured compliance with current standards, and reduced technological gas losses. The project represents an important step in the development of the company’s digital infrastructure and in enhancing production energy efficiency.
