Deputy Director for Production
An early interest in technical science had an impact on my decision to pursue a career in engineering. In 2012, following my graduation from Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian-Technical University, I started my pre-degree internship at Topan.
That period made me show high levels of responsibility, purposefulness and interest in work. The company management recognized my potential and offered a position of Instrumentation and Control Technician. It was an important step for my professional career.
After immersing into the work process, I quickly learned the basic duties: installation, commissioning and maintenance of instruments. The team was friendly and professional, and I actively learned from matured colleagues, who were always ready to share knowledge and help in hard cases.
Due to obvious development of skills, after a few years I was promoted to Instrumentation Engineer. This role covered not only the installation and commissioning of instruments, but also writing technical documentation, equipment selection, and cable routing design. After some time I was promoted to Category 2 Instrumentation and Control Engineer, which allowed me to take part in more sophisticated projects.
Over time, my work has evolved to preparing circuit diagrams, which has expanded professional competency. The diagrams I made have been applied in a number of projects, bringing significant benefits to the company.
In 2019, our department was split from Topan into a dedicated company where I got a leadership role as the I&C Installation Manager. This role provided for supervision of technicians and engineers, but was also involved planning, resourcing, and quality control of the works. By taking an active part in the company development, as well as being deeply immersed in fabrication, I earned the management trust and was promoted to Deputy Director for Production, which I am to this day. It involves coordination of manufacturing and fabrication processes, ensuring compliance with technical standards, and contributing to strategic corporate planning.

Lead DCS Engineer
I have been working for a company since 2018 in charge of process control system automation. This is a hot ticket in Kazakhstan, as the industry is actively developing, and companies tend to increase production efficiency, reduce costs and improve product quality. Automation will optimize processes, minimize human factors and increase safety. With industrialization, digitalization, and adoption of smart manufacturing systems, professionals in this domain are becoming more and more valuable.
After graduation, I offered my CV at a job fair where various companies were represented. A month later, I was invited to join the current company as DCS Technician. My journey started with many things unclear, I made mistakes but every day I learned something new. Year after year, projects were teaching me how to negotiate with customers, develop PLC software, computerize operator workstations using SCADA systems, and configure flow calculators for oil and gas metering hubs.
Recently, valuable expertise with HVAC systems has been added to my knowledge bank. The ultimate customer was Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. This not only broadened my professional competencies, but also opened new horizons in understanding automation. Each new piece of knowledge makes us stronger, so it’s important not to stop at what we have gained and to keep growing.
Through hard work and perseverance I have been able to achieve meaningful results, so never be afraid to learn new things – every step forward leads to new opportunities.
WEST OIL for me is a place to develop continuously because our team takes on projects of any complexity in various production industries. A group of dedicated experts is generating a strong and result-oriented unit capable of handling the most challenging issues. By combining knowledge, proficiency and commitment to development, we are moving forward, bringing cutting-edge technologies to life and making the world of industrial automation even more flawless.
